The autumn air was fresh and during the golden fall, all the teachers and students from Anqing Foreign Language School ushered in the annual autumn sports meet. On the morning of 27th September, Anqing Foreign Language School's east campus observed the grand opening of the 12th Session Track and Field Sports Meet on the sports field. All the teachers and students participated enthusiastically and shared a sports feast to present a gift to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with the running posture and fighting spirit. In attendance were President Madam Huang Wenli, Vice Principals Liu Bing, Xu Xuchang and Yan Hongping, Principal Assistants Qian Zhihong, Ling Qian, Lao Guolin and Lu Dan, Director Li Ping with the Junior High Department, all the teachers and students from both the Junior and Senior High Departments as well as some parent representatives.
Initially, facing the rising sun, stepping on the exciting music, the athletes entered the sports ground. Students from each class who were dressed in different ethnic dance costumes walked briskly past the rostrum, displaying the culture and customs, which became a beautiful scene at the sports meet. After the entrance ceremony, Anqing Foreign Language School held a solemn national anthem singing ceremony, national flag raising ceremony and the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by students Fang Yizhi and Jin Zhiyi from the Senior High Department. Meanwhile, Vice Principal Liu Bing delivered a warm and inspiring opening speech, hoping that all the athletes would adhere to the sporting spirit of 'Friendship First, Competition Second' and demonstrate style and friendship to make this year's sports meet a successful and victorious event. Afterwards, athlete representative Deng Qiyu and referee representative Ding Qi took the oath respectively.
Furthermore, President Madam Huang Wenli announced the official start of the autumn sports meet, followed by a one-thousand-people performance, 'Me and my motherland' to present a gift to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. More noticeably, students dressed in unified uniforms, lined in square matrix in neat action and bright smiles, each one of whom held a red national flag and successively formed the six stunning fonts as follows: 1949, 2019, 70, LOVE and China. The six fonts were able to switch back and forth, which was spectacular. In the meantime, the 56 ethnic groups waved the national flags. Teachers and students vigorously and enthusiastically greeted the National Day to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Evidently, the one-thousand-people performance pushed the opening ceremony to a new high and the whole audience greeted the occasion with joy and laughter.
On the track and field, the athletes were full of pride, who surpassed limit and themselves during the brilliant athletic contest! After two days, with the unity, efforts and hard work of all the teachers and students, the 2019 autumn sports meet of Anqing Foreign Language School came to a successful conclusion. The closing ceremony was presided over by Secretary Liu Qiongdan of the Communist Youth League Committee. School leaders attended the closing ceremony. Vice Principal Liu Bing delivered the closing speech on behalf of the Organizing Committee, in which he fully affirmed the smooth implementation of the sports meet, expressed the warm congratulations to the winning classes and athletes on behalf of Anqing Foreign Language School and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the referees, the staff in addition to all the teachers and students. On the other hand, Vice Principal Liu Bing hoped that students would continue to advance and enrich the sportsmanship of 'Higher, Faster and Stronger', carry forward Anqing Foreign Language School's spirit of unity, enterprising, struggle, striving to be the first and striving for the top to make the healthy body, noble sentiments, spirit of cooperation, tenacious fighting spirit become the foundation of students' academic achievement.
In conclusion, we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and ignite our youthful passion. Anqing Foreign Language School held the passionate sports meet as a birthday present, which also has a special profound commemorative significance. It's believed that all the teachers and students will carry forward the noble quality of unity, friendship, fighting and enterprising on the sports field in the future work and study, chase their dreams, move ahead and serve the motherland with more excellent results!
